On the Eve of September 11th Peaceful Tomorrow Issued the Following Statement:
New York, NY, September 10, 2010- As an organization we will not participate in any rallies or media events on the day of September 11th. We respect that others feel differently and will speak out as they need.
We, however, ask that those in the media remember that although we are silent on the day of the 11th, we are aware that others will continue to speak and we hold fast to our position that we support American civil liberties and the right to religious freedom particularly when those rights and liberties are under attack as they are in the case of the proposed Islamic Community center in lower Manhattan, Park51. We support the rights of Americans of all races, creeds and religions as they practice democratic principles in words and deeds.
September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows is an organization founded by family members of those killed on September 11, 2001. Currently comprised of over 250 families, the group advocates nonviolence and adherence to the rule of law in the pursuit of justice and accountability
