ADC joins anti-Racism conferencein Cordoba, Spain

ADC Joins LCCR at OSCE Conference in Cordoba, Spain

Washington DC, June 8—The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is pleased to be participating in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) conference on Anti-Semitism and on Other Forms of Intolerance in Cordoba, Spain, taking place June 8-9, 2005.

The OSCE is the world's largest regional security organization whose 55 participating states span the geographical area from Vancouver to Vladivostok.

ADC is the only organization representing an Arab community, of the 55 countries involved, at the OSCE. ADC Director of Legal Policy Kareem Shora, JD, is attending on behalf of ADC as part of a larger multicultural and multiethnic non-governmental delegation sponsored by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR).

ADC is an active organizational member of LCCR and over 50 million Americans belong to organizations that comprise LCCR.The OSCE conference aims to build upon the general and specific discussion within the OSCE on racism, xenophobia, and discrimination of any kind, focusing specifically on Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. The first day of the Cordoba conference focuses on anti-Semitism, while on the second, delegates will examine the growing phenomenon of Islamophobia, as well as problems faced by Christians and other religious communities. Shora will be presenting remarks at a panel on "Islamphobia."
