Prominent Michigan Accident Attorney Joumana Kayrouz
Attends President Obama’s Inauguration

Joumana Kayrouz, the prominent Michigan Accident Attorney recently named one of the state’s Top Lawyers for 2012, received an exclusive invitation to attend the inauguration of President Barack Obama and the President’s Inauguration Ball that took place in Washington D.C. on Monday Jan. 21.

Ms. Kayrouz, who has met personally with President Obama during his several past visits to Michigan, described the 57th American inauguration of a president as an “uplifting experience” that serves as a testament to the nation’s commitment to Democracy and freedom.

“The inauguration is a reminder that America is one of the few countries where power is transferred or, in this case, continued in a non-violent and peaceful process as the result of a system in which the people have a direct say on selecting their leadership,” Kayrouz said.

“It was exciting to watch as the President and Mrs. Obama drove and walked down Pennsylvania Avenue following the ceremony to install the president to his second term in office in a public celebration that everyone can enjoy freely.”

Positioned in a reserved section in front of the podium where Obama was sworn in to office using both Abraham Lincoln’s Bible and the Traveling Bible used by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Kayrouz said Obama’s speech was “inspiring and bold. He said a lot. His speech had a different tone this time from his inaugural speech that he gave in January 2009.”

Kayrouz also said she was moved by opening remarks offered by New York Senator Chuck Schumer who focused on the Statue of Freedom affixed to the top of the Congressional dome.

Kayrouz was invited to attend the Presidential Ball and the Michigan Ball which featured some of the state’s most influential political, government and community leaders.

“It was a great honor for me to be invited to attend the inauguration, the Presidential Ball, and the Michigan Ball,” Kayrouz said.

President of the Law Offices of Joumana Kayrouz P.L.L.C. of Southfield, Michigan, Ms. Kayrouz is a recognized leader of the Michigan’s legal profession.

She was named one of the “Top Lawyers of 2012” by DBusiness Magazine, Detroit’s premier business publication, in a confidential poll of more than 18,000 Michigan lawyers in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, and Livingston counties recognizing attorneys in 50 legal specialties.

Kayrouz also received the prestigious 2012 American Arab Chamber of Commerce (AACC) “Economic Bridge Builder of the Year Award” at their 20th Annual Banquet celebration.

She was named a “Presenting Sponsor” honored during the 50th Anniversary gala of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In 2010, Ms. Kayrouz received the Trailblazer Award from the Lebanese American Club of Michigan (LACOM) during their 15th Annual dinner for her achievements in the legal field and for being an outstanding member of the Lebanese-American community and a pioneer in the Michigan legal industry.
