36 Christian Leaders Urge President Obama to Renew Peace Efforts in New Term
Today a diverse group of Christian leaders from Catholic, Orthodox, mainline Protestant, Evangelical, and Historic Peace Church denominations and organizations sent a letter to President Obama calling on him to use his second term as a new opportunity for peace.
Warren Clark, Executive Director of Churches for Middle East Peace who organized the letter effort, commented that “a second term provides President Obama the opportunity to reinvigorate a peace process that is at a critical juncture. Bold U.S. leadership is a key catalyst to bringing an end to a conflict that has gone on far too long for the sake of innocent Israelis and Palestinians.”
A list of signers as well as the text of the letter is available at http://bit.ly/XkkC3i
